"In the midst of making plans, life happens"
This quote, which has been one of my favorites for the last several years, is very true in every sense. It applies especially to my desire to write more than in my journal at night. Writing has been an aspiration for a long time, but I have always placed it on the back burner when other events in my life took place. It was never a priority when I was in school, getting married, having kids, raising kids, going back to school, launching a new career...you get the picture.
I have allowed "life" to get in the way of my desire to put pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard, all the while, letting my thoughts and ideas simmer below the surface. It has been a long time in coming but I feel as though I finally have something to say, and this will be my platform.
I make no bones about the fact that I am an amateur in regards to writing, but the wish and desire is there, and I believe that is a jumping off point. I have books full of poetry that I've written as well as several novels in various stages of completion.
It is well past time to put myself out there and see if the words in my head are worth carving in stone.
